Uncharted 6 Release Date, Gameplay, Trailer, Rumors & More

Uncharted series has left, us, the gamers wanting more from developers & the game. From their brilliant storytelling capability to every smallest detail in every scene, Unchartered has kept the fans asking for more & more from the developers. With brilliant landscape scenes, fierce action stages & excellent character involvement are few things which are common throughout the Unchartered series which made its long 10 years journey strong. Sony Interactive Entertainment producing the game is surely having big plans with the brand, if not for any other reason but for crazy fan following. On the other hand, the developers, Naughty Dog who was under contract for the previous five series may change.

A Little Recape

Uncharted 5: The Lost Legacy, released last year has its fair sharing of fan following much like the previous versions, saw a change in the main characters as well as the plot & the storyline. The story marked the end & bid farewell to the characters of Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher & Victor Sullivan, & marked the beginning of the two main character of Chloe Frazer & her new partner Nadine Ross. Though fans have already seen both the character previously, & in case you have not come across these characters you must not have played the previous versions. If just in case, you are not familiar with the previous versions of the game it is a must play to be entrained to the fullest.  Chloe Frazer was first introduced in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves & then in Unchartered 3: Drake’s Deception. Nadine Ross’s first showcase was in Uncharted 4, as the leader of Shoreline, the South African paramilitary organization.

With every season of Unchartered series, we saw a new place. A trip around the world if you may call it. From the Arabian Desert to the beautiful Himalayan Valley of Shambhala, to the Islands of Pacific Ocean to the very latest The Western Ghats of India. Every season had something new to showcase & with even more attention to details, we loved the way you can actually take a picture of the beautiful landscapes in The Lost Legacy.

Uncharted 6 Release Date : Should We Expect?

Well, what we see Sony has a long way to go with their best & the biggest PlayStation franchise. Going strong for 10 years now this franchise is the answer to Microsoft & Nintendo. Sony Pictures is also mounting an Unchartered prequel movie, which will be headed by Shawn Levy. A credit to the Naughty Dog’s effort which pulled big names for the movie. If we talk numbers, this brand has more than 41.7 million sales as of December last year. So yes we think there will be more episodes of the unchartered but we don’t exactly sure on what exactly to expect, but it is only fair to expect.

Uncharted 6 Features

There will be definitely a change in the plot for uncharted 6, as in the place or the treasure the story will revolve around but we don’t expect there will be a vast deviation from the core element of the story. We predict there to be two ways the story can unfold.

One way it can bring in the same character as of the previous version Uncharted 5 with Chloe & Nadine & it can be a part 2 of The Lost Legacy but in a different backdrop. Secondly, there can be any old character which came in, in the previous versions would take up the center stage.

We are on the other hand is sure about the developer’s side that Naughty Dog won’t continue with the series as they are stuck with their newest The Last Of Us Part 2 till 2019 or 2021. Speaking of which, Shaun Escayg, the creative director & writer for Naughty Dog spoke to Eurogamer about the franchise, he said,

” I wouldn’t say it’s the end. This thieving world is huge. There are so many characters. Even before we settled on this particular story we were exploring Sullivan, we were exploring Cutter, and pairing each other up, thinking what would be right, what would have conflict, growth, something new, something fresh. And Chloe was the one that kept jumping out. But to say the Uncharted world is done…I doubt that highly.”

So we are pretty sure if Uncharted has a future it is doubtful with the Naughty Dog.

• AN OPEN WORLD: Uncharted initially was not able to provide an exact open world feel, there where surfaces which looked like walkable or climbable but turned out not to be. It would be a great feature if the gamer is allowed to roam about everywhere & allow a true open world experience. Uncharted 5 is one which allowed the gamer to get a feel for the open world nature of the game but not to the fullest. This is one feature we all want next time.
• VR: Since PlayStation VR is already out, we do want to get the feel of the virtual world. We hope the developers would come up with the VR version of the game. Being an adventure game, VR would give the game a different dimension to it.
• A NEW PLACE: This feature would be very obvious, but it would be fun & exciting if the next story takes us to two places at the same game. Clubbing of AR in the game would be an exciting prospect if users get a feel for AR technology in the game.
• ALTERNET STORYLINE: It would be a paradise for gamers if there is more & more alternate storyline for the next version. The alternate storyline would provide a different dimension altogether, making the game more intuitive & surprising.
• Streaming Facility: We would love to see support for streaming facilities with YouTube, Twitch to share the gameplay with friends.

Uncharted 6 Characters

Escayg also told,” many stories & character are on the table.” According to him, there is a number of options they can look for the next version.

‘Sully’ VICTOR SULLIVAN: The American businessman as well as the mentor & father figure for Nathan. He first made his appearance in Drake’s Fortune & latest in A Thief’s End. Sally appeared on numerous occasions as a major character. He is also seen in various missions with Drake. Voice & Motion captured by Richard McGonagle.

Sully & Chloe: Chloe, as we know, was the central character in Uncharted 5, may have her new partner as Sully, the businessman & mentor of Drake.  Chloe the protagonist in Uncharted 5 is an Indian Australian treasure hunter & thief for hire. She was the former love interest of Drake. Chloe is motioned & voiced by either Claudia Black or Michelle Lee.

Sully & Sam: Another pair which we may see as the main character is this duo. Here the American businessman will be paired with Samuel Drake aka Sam. Sam was first introduced in Uncharted 4 he was later seen as tritagonist in The lost legacy. He is the elder brother of Nathan Drake, a professional thief & treasure hunter. Voiced & motioned by Troy Baker.

Cutter & Chloe: There are talks about Chloe pairing up with Cutter aka Charlie Cutter the Englishman. He is a fortune hunter. Charlie appeared in Uncharted 3 who was an ally of Nathan, Sully & Chloe. Voiced by Graham McTavish.

There is a hint that Chloe might be in Uncharted 6 as one of the main characters, but till then we just wait & see.

Uncharted 6 Gameplay

The gameplay of Uncharted 5 is excellent & 60 FPS making it great to play. With the attention to details & an open play, the environment has taken the game a notch up ahead the previous versions. We expect even better gameplay for the next version. With more & more ablity to perform great stunts, easy & intuitive movements of the characters. It would be even better if there are alternate storyline which would make the game mold in different directions.

We expect there to be more vehicle & ammo available. With even more futuristic weapons & use of scientific equipment would make the game even more engaging. Allowing gamers to choose their action would be an additional benefit for an improved gameplay. For instance, letting the player choose between driving the car or sitting as a passenger. A great addition to Uncharted 5 was the ability to take picture of a particular landscape, we would love more such actions which is actually player driven.

An obvious addition to improving the overall gameplay would be an improved AI. An improved AI would not only improve the actions of the enemy but also the ability & capability of the co-character. Actions like stealth, enemy spotting, relics spotting etc. would be more captivating. Also, a smarter co-character would always improve the gameplay.

Multiplayer is already a great addition to Uncharted 5, making it a great game to play with a team, but if more controls over the open world were provided it would be great. Hopefully, the next developers would give an extensive control over the open world.

Uncharted 6 Release Date

Well, we have heard about the priorities from the developers, Naughty Dog on their next project. It is clear that they are not focusing on Uncharted now. There are talks that they won’t develop the next version of this game. So there is no prediction of the next version & when it will be released. What is pretty sure is Sony would not easily let their best franchise die. Our prediction, they would tie up with different developers. Though previously also there were talks about Naughty Dog leaving the franchise before uncharted 5 it was not to be. This time around also, there are hints from the writer of Naughty Dog that they have a different priority set for themselves. Sony Interactive Entertainment has a lot to decide on the developers’ part.  We believe if there has to be the next version of the game it would only come after the movie.  We can only expect the next version at 2021.

Lastly, we the gamers would love to the next version of the Uncharted as soon as possible. One of the best first-person adventure action game for PlayStation. The game has certainly won millions of heart evident from the sales figures, the originality, beautiful landscape, brilliant gameplay & fabulous graphics has done the trick for Sony & Naughty Dog. The Lost Legacy have marked the beginning of a new era for the franchise & we hope there would be many more to come in near future. With newer character, improved gameplay & a new place from around the world can make us only wait to want for more.

The sequel is yet to be named this time around unlike the last time, so excitement is even more between the gamers. We hope to see the next sequel soon, which would take us on an adventure never like before.
